The price of freedom...

..is always too low when you're selling out!

Nestlé has taken out ads in the Middle East boasting that their products do not have Danish origin, i.e. supporting the boycott of Danish products caused by the fact that Danish papers are free to write what they want.

I say fair enough, if they had cut the subscription to Jyllands Posten (the Danish paper), but to support a hate campaign against a country that promotes freedom of speech is immoral in my mind. Regardless how much cash they stand to gain, selling out this freedom will always be cheap. Thanks, but no thanks, Nestlé, I won't support you when you push for your CEO to edit the Swiss press to protect your revenues.

Karl

Same goes for French retailer Carrefour. Freedom, equality and brotherhood, unless of course, there's a revenue opportunity that calls us to give up the principles of the revolution! Well revenue this: I will never shop with you again, because I happen to believe in freedom, equality and brotherhood!

Yeah! While I don't agree with a newspaper that chooses to print cartoons of the Prophet Mohummed while just a few months before thay apparently had declined to print cartoons of Jesus for fear they might offend (I mean, there's freedom of speech and then there's just plain old common sense and sensitivity - having some decent insight into the state of world affairs and the hearts of other people - but i digress...)

Nestle are a bunch of hypocritical bastards - they are known outright for not giving a shit about the new born babaies they get hooked on formula rather than allow hospitals to encourage breats feeding - once outside the hospitals, the new mothers cannot usually afford the formula, and when they can, it is often mixed with contaminated water. So, why would Nestle do such a thing? Because they don't give a shit, that's why, Same as their recent smoke and mirros attempt at "fair Trade" coffee.

I agree with von Helvete on this one - Nestle don't deserve anyone's money - not the muslim community, not the Christian Community, not the athiest community....maybe we shoudl all stop fighting each other and just fight them....
